Is it Too Late to Say Happy New Year?

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it is 2023 already? We all wear so many hats as parents, students, business owners and more. Here are some friendly reminders you and easily and quickly do this New Year!

Welcome to 2023!

1. Start that Business that You Have Been Dreaming About! Did you know that you can start a business in the U.S. regardless of your immigration status?

The Holland Law Firm, PLLC is here to help you get your business idea off the ground with small business start-up packages, custom independent contractor agreements, and more in English and Spanish!

2. Get Started with Your Immigration Process. We expect for USCIS to increase their filing fees significantly in 2023. For example, a permanent resident application filing fee is expected to go from around $1,700 to over $3,500. The fee increases have not been implemented yet. File before USCIS increases this fee.

3. Increase Your Social Media Presence. This is important for both our business owner and immigration clients. For business owners, a strong social media presence is necessary to reach a wider audience and grow your business!

For our immigration clients, social media posts could help verify the marital relationship, international travel, and physical presence in the U.S.

4. Check the Expiration Date on Your Permanent Resident Card (AKA your Green Card). Your green card has so much important information on it, including when you can apply for U.S. Citizenship!

Generally, a green card holder must wait 5 years to apply for U.S. citizenship. The wait is much shorter for spouses of U.S. citizens. Ask us how to apply today.

5. Update your Address with USCIS. You are required to update your address with USCIS until you become a U.S. citizen. This includes long-time green card holders. Failing to update your address can result in serious immigration consequences.

Update your address with USCIS online today!

We are making drastic changes at the Holland Law Firm this year! Please be on the lookout for our immigration and business law updates, videos, and resource packets.
